"Feature-rich on paper, disappointing in real ownership: I purchased the MG Gloster Blackstorm variant about 1.5 years ago after carefully comparing it with the Toyota Fortuner. The Fortuner felt mechanically solid but did not feel very exciting or feature-loaded, whereas the Gloster appeared more premium and value-for-money on paper. Based on features, comfort, and showroom experience, we shortlisted and bought the Gloster. Unfortunately, the ownership experience has been very poor. The biggest issue is the engine and overall performance. The engine does not feel suitable for a vehicle of this size and weight. There is frequent lag and underperformance, especially when the car is loaded or driven in hilly areas. During a trip to Himachal Pradesh, the car struggled on inclines and did not inspire confidence at all. A very serious incident occurred on a normal hill road in Himachal Pradesh. After a hairpin bend, the car suddenly stalled, showed multiple error warnings, and completely refused to move. This was not an off-road situation. We contacted roadside assistance and were told we would get a call back within five minutes, but no response came for nearly 45 minutes to an hour. The car eventually restarted on its own, but by then we had lost all confidence in the vehicle. After this incident, we stopped taking the car on long or important trips. A few days later, the car failed to start at home. At the service centre, we were informed that the battery was faulty, which is unacceptable for a car that is only 1.5 years old. Even then, the battery was not replaced and was only charged. After another two weeks, an alternator issue was diagnosed. We were promised a replacement within 10 days, but even after more than 20 days, nothing has been resolved. The car has been largely unusable during this period, with poor communication and follow-up from the service team. In terms of comfort and interior experience, the car looks premium but the controls and overall usability are not intuitive. Despite being a large SUV, it does not feel confidence-inspiring to drive, especially after repeated reliability issues. Pros: Good road presence Feature-rich on paper Spacious cabin Cons: Underpowered and laggy engine Poor reliability Electrical issues Very disappointing after-sales service Low confidence for long-distance or hill travel Overall, the MG Gloster may look impressive in the showroom and on the spec sheet, but in real-world ownership, it has been stressful and unreliable. For a vehicle in this segment, long-term reliability and dependable service matter more than features, and this is where the Gloster has seriously let us down."

"Be Vigilant before buying this: Full of software glitches, they changed the infotainment system and still, it didn't work properly. I had to frequently call the service center and escalate the issue, but they didn't solve the problem. I sold it at a very low price, 6500km. Lost a lot of money. I love the car for driving and the space but from experience, not possible to rely on the car for a long drive. Anything can happen and this vehicle will be an Alien in India's countryside as everything is shown in the infotainment system and it goes dead frequently. I am 64 years old used many branded cars, I bought them because of the space and features they provide. But the features are working through the car's infotainment system. I contacted the showroom to exchange my car for a new one, with full awareness the price would be very low, they didn't contact and respond to that also, which means they didn't trust their product."

"A bad Infotainment system: The Infotainment system is buggy and has no dedicated volume control for the passenger, each time we have to inform the driver to increase or decrease the volume, the voice command option never works with Android OR Apple, the navigation and the software are full of bugs. My car is a 2022 model Gloster 6-seater Savvy with full option and while I took the car from the showroom there was a dedicated volume control in the infotainment system. within 2000 Kms the infotainment system started with full of bugs and it took more than three weeks to replace it and now the problems started again, they replaced it without a dedicated volume control and overall, the infotainment system is full of bugs. Now it's in the servicing Centre the Km is 5500 and it has sat idle for more than a week. I don't know what's going to happen now. I regret buying this car."

"Giant Gloster: It's new launching car and I am lucky to have best price and 2 lakh worth of benefits are really TRUE worth .I really did R& D with friends relatives who are experts in cars and driving 4 wheelers.i tried ford endeavour fortuner and glister. I preferred ford endeavour initially as Fortuner is best but it's not a family-friendly vehicle and the Endeavour is having a sunroof as my kids preferred endeavour over Fortuner. But the experts who drove gloster and endeavour suggested me gloster and my family liked gloster because of its world class features. Initially I have doubts as it's new launch brand and buying costly car in India. But really I am feeling lucky to have this vehicle as the performance is top notch as it is 4 wheel drive and features are really awesome. World class service at service centers.As I took 5years warranty and 3 years package for maintenance. It's zero costing till now . I am using this car more than 2 years about to complete 75k kms. I earlier used Innova crysta.Glosrer is combination of Innova crysta comfort and fortuner performance."

"Absolutely unreliable car with worst after-sales service: Buying experience itself was horrible. They promised to deliver the car within 4 weeks but then kept delaying till 6-7 months. Looks, performance and all are fine but the main headache is customer service. Absolutely ridiculous service centre staff. Issues keep popping up and MG takes 0 responsibility for them. It's just 1000 kms and my back headlight has started getting cracks from the inside and the top as you can guess MG claims 0 responsibility for this. They are just money hungry. Definitely regret buying it and strongly recommend you NEVER buy a car from MG. The service is just so bad and they'll suck every penny out of you."

"Stay away from this car. Do Not Buy It.: Brought this car in November 2022. In one month this car has issues with engine. Have given to the service center (which have unskilled people) they did not understand the problem. Got my car delivered back. Faced again the same issue which is not resolving. I have been ashamed in front of friends and family. Never buy this car. I did mistake to buy it. Save your money"
