6. Driving & Comfort
Driving & Comfort Assessment
City Driving
Manual gearbox requires more effort in heavy traffic, but offers good control. Turning radius of 5.2m is reasonable for urban maneuvers. Good ground clearance for everyday Indian road conditions.
Highway Performance
The 89 bhp engine is sufficient for highway cruising but needs planning for quick overtakes.
Ride & Comfort
Torsion beam rear suspension handles most road imperfections adequately. Road and engine noise are noticeable, typical for this segment.
7. Community Sentiment

"This car was amazing and seat plan is nice and space is awesome, Car look was amazing."
"I have driven swift 2024 model and my experience was great. Swift gives great comfort and great space. Performance was great and best in class. Mileage was too good and the features are also great.Overall perfect car in that price range."
"I have the 2022 Maruti Swift, using it mostly for city driving and sometimes highways. Overall, it’s a good1car for daily use, but it’s not perfect. In traffic, the car is super easy to drive. Steering is light,1clutch is smooth, and gear shifts are easy. Even in heavy traffic, it doesn’t feel tiring. Parking is also1easy because of the size. For city use, honestly, no complaints. Mileage is one of the main reasons I went for1this car. In city, I usually get around 20–22 kmpl, and on highways it goes up to 23–25 kmpl if driven1normally. AC usage doesn’t drop mileage too much, which is a plus. I have the petrol version. Diesel was1available around that time, and those who have diesel say it has better pickup and torque, especially on1highways. But diesel costs more and now petrol feels simpler and easier to maintain. On highways, the car is1fine till around 90–100 km/h. After that, you do hear more road and engine noise. It doesn’t feel unsafe, but you can feel the1car is light. Build quality is honestly average — doors feel thin and you don’t get that solid feeling1like heavier cars.Service experience has been good. Maruti service centers are everywhere, servicing cost is1reasonable, and parts are not expensive. That gives peace of mind for long-term use.Cost-wise, when bought in12022, the on-road price was roughly between ₹6.5 lakh to ₹10 lakh, depending on variant and city. Maintenance cost is low, so overall running cost is manageable.Good1points:• Very easy to drive in city• Good mileage• Low service and maintenance cost• Reliable for1daily useNot so good:• Build quality feels light• Cabin noise on highways• Not very confidence-inspiring1at high speedFinal thought:The 2022 Swift is a practical, no-drama car. It’s not exciting, not premium, but1it does the job well. If your priority is mileage, easy driving, and low maintenance, it’s a good choice. If1you want strong build or premium feel, you might feel a little disappointed."
"Swift 2021-2024: The paint quality is subpar. After just 2 years, I'm seeing fading and minor chips appearing on the hood and roof areas."
"Swift 2021-2024: Safety ratings from GNCAP are disappointing for most models. Even with airbags, structural integrity is questionable."
